Hi, I’m Jack, a 11 year old boy who gave up video games for Lent and started my company, Jack-Straps.

About a year and a half ago, I chose to give up video games on all my devices for 40 days during Lent. During those forty days, I got bored and started wondering what I should do in my free time. Then it hit me—I could start a business.

I began looking for something to make or sell, and that’s when I came across belts. It was perfect. As I dug deeper, I found out that most store-bought belts have a big problem: they’re made of genuine leather. Most people think genuine leather is the highest quality, but really it’s just scraps of leather pressed together to look nicer.

At Jack-Straps, we use full-grain leather, which is the best of the best. It comes from the top cut of the hide, lasts much longer than genuine leather, and doesn’t stretch nearly as much.

At Jack-Straps, we believe in giving back. That’s why a portion of our profits (10%) goes to support the Wounded Warrior Project, a nonprofit organization that helps veterans and service members who were injured during their military service.

The Wounded Warrior Project provides programs and services for physical and mental health, career counseling, and support for families. Their mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors as they transition back into civilian life.
